Clearing for what comes next

Most clearing in Williamson County is the first step toward something else: a house site, a pasture, a barn, a fence line you can finally find. We clear with that end in mind, which is why we ask what is going on the ground afterward. From Lawrenceburg, we take clearing here as a larger job, and the free quote starts with a walk.

What we clear and what we do not

  • Brush, briars, vines and saplings, cut with the brush hog
  • Trees up to 10 inches thick, pushed or pulled with the excavator
  • Stumps and roots, pulled as part of the clearing
  • Debris piled on site or loaded and hauled off
  • Rough grading of the cleared ground, if you want it

We do not offer mulching, tree climbing, trimming or bucket-truck work, and we do not sell stump grinding or tree service as a stand-alone job. Larger trees go to an arborist.

Brush hog first, excavator second

The brush hog on the SVL 97-2 opens up thick growth so we can see the ground, the trees worth keeping and the property edge. The KX057-5 then handles trees and stumps, and the track loader gets into tight spots. Pulling stumps with their roots matters when a pad or driveway is going there.

When to clear

Late fall through winter is easier: leaves are down, vines are visible, and the ground is usually firmer than in a wet spring. We can clear in other seasons, but we will tell you if soft ground changes the plan.

Rules to check before work

Disturbing an acre or more generally brings Tennessee construction stormwater rules into play. Work in or near a stream may need TDEC approval. Some cities have tree-protection or buffer requirements, and open burning has its own permits and bans. Ask your city or county codes office before we start.

How a clearing job runs

  1. Mark what stays. Shade trees, windbreaks and property corners.
  2. Free on-site quote from acreage, density and where the debris goes.
  3. Plan the water before the ground cover is gone, especially on slopes.
  4. Clear. Brush hog, excavator, then track loader for tight spots.
  5. Pile or haul, then a walk-through.

Frequently asked questions

How thick can the trees and brush be?

Our clearing equipment handles material up to 10 inches thick. Anything larger we look at on site and tell you whether the excavator can take it out safely. If it is too big or too risky, we say so and suggest an arborist.

Do you pull stumps?

Yes, as part of clearing. The excavator pulls stumps and roots along with the trees so the ground is workable afterward. We do not offer stump grinding or tree service as a separate job.

Do you mulch the brush?

No. We do not offer mulching. Cut material is piled where you want it or loaded into our dump trailer and hauled away, which leaves bare ground ready for a pad, driveway or pasture.

Will you climb or trim trees near my house?

No. We do not climb trees or work from a bucket truck. A tree leaning on a house or hung up in other trees belongs with a licensed tree service or arborist.

Is a small lot worth the trip from Lawrenceburg?

Usually larger acreage, building sites and long fence lines are the better fit, since the equipment has to travel. We do not post a minimum, so describe the place and we will tell you honestly.

Can you grade the lot after clearing?

Yes. The same machines can rough-grade the ground once it is clear, or build a pad or drive on it.
