The machine behind the work

We dig with a Kubota KX057-5, a compact excavator with a thumb and a grapple option and plenty of reach for homesite work. It fits down side yards and into wooded lots where a full-size machine cannot go, and the SVL 97-2 track loader handles finish work. The limit is real: this is homesite, farm and light commercial equipment, and a heavy civil job needs someone else.

Digging we do in Williamson County

  • Trenches for drain pipe and service lines, dug and backfilled by us
  • Cutting high ground and filling low ground to rough-grade a lot
  • Soft-spot dig-outs under driveways and pads
  • Ditches and culvert trenches dug to grade
  • Pulling stumps and roots as part of clearing a site
  • Loading excess soil into the dump trailer and carrying it away

Know what is underground first

Excavation starts with knowing where not to dig. Request the 811 locate several business days ahead. Then walk the site with us and point out private lines, the septic tank and field, wells and anything else buried. Where the excavated soil will sit gets settled before the first scoop, so the pile never blocks the access or covers a marker.

Rock, clay and water

Williamson County sits on limestone country, and rock can show up near the surface in one spot and be deep clay a short distance away. We watch the soil as the bucket goes in, and if rock or water shifts the plan, you hear about it that day.

How a dig job runs

  1. Call with the job. Length, depth, and what is going in the ground.
  2. Locates and a site walk. The free quote comes from what is actually there.
  3. Plan the spoil. Decide what stays, what goes in the trailer and where the pile sits.
  4. Dig to the depth and slope you need, then backfill in layers.
  5. Finish with the surface graded so the yard is usable.

Frequently asked questions

What size excavation jobs do you take in Williamson County?

Homesite, farm and light commercial digging: trenches, cut and fill, dig-outs, ditches and haul-off. Heavy civil work or deep commercial digging is beyond our compact machines, and we will tell you. Since we trailer from Lawrenceburg, the bigger jobs in that range fit best.

Do you have a local office or crew?

No. Home base is 355 Tripp Road in Lawrenceburg. Nothing in Williamson County is ours, so we plan each trip carefully and give you a free on-site quote.

Do I need to call 811?

Yes. Tennessee 811 flags public underground utilities, and it takes a few business days. Private lines such as a well supply, septic tank or irrigation are not flagged, so point those out to us yourself.

Can you dig a trench for a water or electric line?

The digging and the backfill are ours. Laying pipe or wire and making the hookups belongs to your licensed plumber, electrician or utility.

Do you dig foundations and basements?

Sometimes, when the dig is small enough for a compact machine. We do not form, pour or frame. Show us the plans and we will say honestly whether the dig is ours.

Can you haul the dirt away?

Yes. Loads go in our dump trailer, or we move the soil to another part of your property if you need fill there. Mention the contents ahead of time, as we cannot take everything.

This goes into our job book. Or call (931) 458-1500.
