Hauling and delivery, not a material yard

The words matter here: we do not sell fill dirt, gravel or stone. We source it from a quarry for your job, bring it to your site in our dump trailer, and place it where it belongs. That keeps the quote simple. You are paying for sourcing, hauling, delivery and spreading, not for a pile in a yard.

What we haul

  • Fill dirt to raise a pad, fill a low spot, backfill a trench or build up a yard
  • Gravel and crushed stone for driveways, parking areas, pads and low spots
  • Larger stone and rip rap where a pipe empties or a ditch needs lining
  • Haul-off of excess soil, cut brush and clean construction scraps

Matching the material to the use

Think about what the material has to do. Soil raises grade, but it softens when it rains, so keep it under slabs and lawns. Crushed stone that includes fines locks together into a hard, draining surface, which suits a lane. Washed stone with no fines stays open so water can pass through, which suits trenches, pipe bedding and soggy corners. We choose with you.

Working out the quantity

The arithmetic is length times width times depth, all in feet, divided by 27. Picture a 10-foot-wide, 200-foot lane covered 4 inches deep: about 25 cubic yards. Order a bit beyond that, because stone compacts and fill settles after the first rain. Use our gravel and fill dirt calculator to check your own numbers.

Getting it onto your property

Before delivery, mention gates, low wires, soggy ground, septic lines or sharp turns. A heavy loaded trailer can rut a lawn or crush a drain field, so we sometimes stage the pile at the edge of the property and carry it in with the track loader. Keep deep fill off the root zone of mature trees.

How a delivery job runs

  1. Tell us the use, the area and the access.
  2. Confirm the quantity with the calculator and, where it matters, on site.
  3. We source the load from the quarry that makes sense for the job.
  4. Deliver and spread, or place it where you need it.
  5. Haul off any spoil or debris and walk it with you.

What moves the price

No price list is posted. A quote reflects the material and quantity, the run from the quarry to your site, how easy the access is, and whether you want it dumped or spread. Larger Williamson County jobs get a free quote on site.

Frequently asked questions

Do you sell fill dirt, gravel or stone?

No. There is no yard and no stockpile for sale. We buy from a quarry, haul the load in our dump trailer, deliver it and spread it as part of the job. The quote covers sourcing, hauling and labor.

Can you deliver to Williamson County from Lawrenceburg?

Yes, for larger jobs. We have no Williamson County yard or truck stationed here, so deliveries make the most sense as part of a pad, driveway or grading job, or as sizable fill orders. Call with the quantity and we will tell you if it fits.

What material do I need for my driveway?

For most gravel lanes the answer is crushed stone with fines in it, since it packs hard and sheds rain. Washed stone drains freely but stays loose underfoot. Give us the slope and the traffic and we will suggest what to haul.

How much do I need to order?

Work out the volume in cubic feet and divide by 27 for cubic yards. A 10-by-200-foot lane at 4 inches deep comes to about 25 cubic yards, plus a little for settling. The calculator on our site does it for you, and we double-check on site.

Can you spread it, or only dump a load?

Either. Most customers want it spread, and since the track loader is on site, we do that in the same visit.

Do you haul away dirt, brush and debris?

Yes. Soil, cut brush and clean scraps go into the dump trailer and leave with us. Tell us what is in the pile beforehand, since a few materials are not ours to take.
