Storm damage cleanup in Columbia and Lawrenceburg: what is included

After a storm, a yard can be buried in limbs with a trunk across the grass, or a lane can be blocked by brush. We clear it with our Kubota KX057-5 excavator and Kubota SVL97-2 track loader: pull out what the machines can reach, cut it up, and haul it off. Typical jobs:

  • Downed and broken trees in a yard, pasture or fence line that the machines can reach
  • Limbs and storm debris pulled off a fence, driveway or outbuilding
  • Fallen trees and brush blocking a driveway or access road
  • Brush and debris cleared off land after a storm so the ground is open again
  • Smoothing the ground afterward where the machines worked

Our clearing equipment handles material up to 10 inches thick. For larger trunks we look at the site and tell you honestly whether the excavator can move them safely. If it cannot, we say so before we start.

What we do not do

We do not mulch or chip, and we do not offer tree trimming, climbing or bucket-truck work or emergency and after-hours response. A tree leaning on a house, hung up in other trees or touching a power line is a job for a licensed tree service or arborist, and for the utility if lines are involved. Once the tree is on the ground and within reach of the machines, call us for the cleanup. We do not handle insurance claims or promise what a claim will cover.

How a storm cleanup job works

  1. Call or send photos. Give us the address and a few phone photos of the trees and debris, plus anything that limits machine access like gates, fences, soft ground or a septic field.
  2. Free on-site quote. We walk it with you and tell you what the machines can safely reach and what needs a tree service first.
  3. Safety check. Tell us about power lines, buried utilities, wells, septic lids and anything the tree is resting on. We work around what we can see and what you tell us.
  4. Pull, cut and clear. The excavator pulls and moves trunks and limbs, and the skid steer gathers and loads the debris.
  5. Haul off and walk-through. Cut material is hauled off, the ground is smoothed where the machines worked, and we walk it with you when we finish.

Fallen trees on driveways and access roads

Storms drop limbs and whole trees across lanes and farm roads, and the first job is just getting through. We clear the blockage so you can drive it again. If the storm also washed out the lane, the same visit can lead into a driveway grading job, and a blocked or washed-out ditch is covered under culverts and drainage. Brush and thick growth on the rest of the property can be cut back with a brush hog; see brush hogging and land clearing.

What moves the price

We quote on site, with no prices posted here. The factors are the size and number of trees, how easily the machines can reach them, how much debris there is, how far it has to be hauled, and ground conditions like soft or wet soil. Yards with tight gates, fences, septic fields or buried lines take more care than open ground.

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer emergency or 24-hour storm response?

No. We are not an emergency service and we do not offer after-hours response. Call (931) 458-1500 Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, describe the damage, and we will tell you what we can do and when we can look at it.

Do you cut down trees that are still standing?

We take trees down and clear with machines, but we do not climb trees or use a bucket truck. A tree that is leaning on a house, hung up in other trees or touching a power line should go to a licensed tree service or arborist, and the utility for anything near lines. Once it is on the ground and the machines can reach it, we can clear it.

How big of a tree or limb can you handle?

Our clearing equipment handles material up to 10 inches thick. For larger trunks we look at the site and tell you honestly whether the excavator can move them safely. If it cannot, we say so and point you to an arborist rather than take a risk with your property.

Do you mulch or chip the debris?

No. We do not offer mulching or chipping. We cut the material up and haul it off, and debris can be gathered into piles first with the machines.

Do you work with insurance claims?

We do not handle insurance claims and cannot say what a claim will cover. Ask your insurance company what they need, and tell us when you call if you want to talk through the work before you decide.

Can you clear a fallen tree off my driveway or access road?

Yes, when the excavator or skid steer can reach it and the material is within our size limit. Tell us about gates, fences, soft ground and power lines when you call. If the lane also washed out in the storm, we can regrade it; see our driveway grading and culverts and drainage pages.

Do you do storm cleanup in Columbia, Pulaski and Lewisburg?

Yes. We work from Lawrenceburg across Lawrence, Maury, Giles, Marshall, Lewis and Wayne counties, including Columbia, Spring Hill, Mt. Pleasant, Lewisburg and Pulaski. Call and describe the place and we will tell you if it is a fit.

This goes into our job book. Or call (931) 458-1500.
