Land clearing & lot clearing in Middle Tennessee
Overgrown lots, homesites, fence lines and field edges opened up with an excavator and skid steer, then hauled or piled the way you want it. We do not offer mulching.

How we clear a lot
Clearing is not one machine doing one thing. We match the machine to what is growing on the ground:
- Brush, briars and saplings: cut with the brush hog on the SVL97-2. See brush hogging for open fields and lanes.
- Trees: the Kubota KX057-5 excavator pushes over and pulls trees and stumps on lots, house sites and fence lines. Roots come out with the tree, which matters if a pad or driveway is going there.
- Tight access: the skid steer gets into places the excavator cannot, between buildings and along fences.
- Cleanup: we pile debris where you want it or load it into the dump trailer and haul it off.
Our clearing equipment handles material up to 10 inches thick. For larger trees we look at the site and tell you honestly whether the excavator can take it out safely. We do not climb trees or work from a bucket truck, so a tree hung over a house is not our job.

No mulching, and why it matters to you
Some outfits mulch everything where it falls. We do not offer mulching. Cut material is piled or hauled, which leaves bare, workable ground for a pad, driveway or pasture, and no thick chip layer to bury seed or slow a build. If you were hoping for forestry mulching, we are not the right call, and we would rather say so up front.
Middle Tennessee ground and timing
Cedar, privet, honeysuckle and multiflora rose take over Middle Tennessee fields fast, and a lot that sat five years can be solid vines. Late fall through winter is the easiest time to clear: leaves are down, you can see the lay of the land, and the ground is firmer than in a wet spring. Clearing exposes bare soil, so on sloped ground we plan where water will run before the cover is gone. Work in or near a stream may need state approval from TDEC, and disturbing an acre or more generally brings Tennessee's construction stormwater rules into play. Your builder or engineer usually handles that paperwork.
Decide what stays before the machines arrive
Walk the lot with us and mark the trees you want to keep: a shade tree near the house, a good oak at the edge of the pad, a windbreak along the road. Pulling stumps next to a keeper damages its roots, so we plan the cut line with that in mind. Tell us where the property lines are and whether a fence belongs to you or a neighbor, because fence lines are where overgrowth usually hides the boundary.
Brush piles, burning and haul-off
Cleared brush can be piled at the back of the property, or we can load it into the dump trailer and haul it off. If you plan to burn piles, check the rules first. Open burning in Tennessee depends on permits, conditions and burn bans, and the Tennessee Division of Forestry is the place to confirm what is allowed.
What moves the price
We quote after seeing the property. The big factors: acreage and how dense the growth is; the size and number of trees and stumps; slope, rocks and wet ground; how far we haul debris or whether it can stay piled; and access for the machines and trailer. Free on-site quotes, no price over the phone without seeing it.
Frequently asked questions
Do you mulch the brush and trees?
No. We do not offer mulching. We clear with the brush hog and excavator, then pile or haul off what is cut.
How thick can the trees and brush be?
Our clearing equipment handles material up to 10 inches thick. For anything bigger we look at it on site and say whether it is practical and safe with the excavator.
Do you pull stumps?
Yes. The KX057-5 excavator pulls stumps along with the trees on lots, house sites and fence lines, so the ground is usable afterward.
Can you clear and then grade the lot or build a pad?
Yes. The same crew can rough grade the cleared ground and build the driveway or pad, so there is no handoff between contractors.
Do you do tree trimming or work over a house?
No. We do not climb trees or use a bucket truck. We take trees down and clear with machines.
